The Power of Custom Fabrics: Why Personalisation Matters
Fabrics play a crucial role in our daily lives, from the clothes we wear to the furniture in our homes and the branding elements of businesses. Whether for personal use, interior design, or corporate branding, high-quality fabrics define durability, aesthetics, and comfort. However, not all fabrics are created equal, and for design firms, designers, and businesses looking to stand out, custom fabric solutions offer unmatched value. Gerber Textiles is a leader in the South African textile industry, providing premium, tailor-made fabric options that cater to diverse needs, from home interiors to outdoor applications.
The Power of Custom Fabric
Why settle for close when you can have exactly what you envision?

When designing a new hotel, lodge, or commercial space, there’s often a clear creative vision. But when it comes to fabrics, designers find themselves flipping through endless swatch books, searching for the closest match. Design shouldn’t be about compromise.
We believe that fabric should be just as tailored as the space it inhabits. Our custom fabric solutions empower businesses and designers to create materials that are not only visually unique but also meet the exact functional needs of their projects.

1. Fabric, Designed for the Space
Fabric isn’t just a material, it’s a statement, forming an essential part of the design story. Whether it’s for a luxury hotel, a signature retail space, or custom office space that speaks to a company’s culture, the right fabric sets a space apart. Gerber Textiles doesn't do “close enough.” We create bespoke, one-of-a-kind fabric that captures your vision and brings it to life. No compromises, no settling - just fabrics that define your space, down to the last thread.

2. Superior Quality & Durability
Unlike mass-produced common textiles designs, custom fabric design solutions allow for full control over yarn selection, thread count, and fabric structure. Gerber Textiles specialises in premium indoor and outdoor fabrics that withstand wear and tear while maintaining vibrant colours and textures over time.

3. Sustainability & Eco-Friendliness
Sustainability in design goes beyond aesthetics, it’s about creating with intention. Custom fabric production reduces waste by ensuring only what is needed is made. Gerber Textiles takes it a step further.
Our production process includes effluent water treatment, ensuring that water used in manufacturing is responsibly treated before re-entering the environment. Every element of our production waste, from yarn cones and cardboard to pallets and fabric trimmings, is recycled back into the circular economy, giving materials a second life instead of adding to landfills.
Sustainability isn’t just a checkbox, it’s woven into everything we create.

4. Adaptability to Projects Needs
Different projects require fabrics with specific properties. Customisation ensures that textiles meet fire-retardant, water-resistant, or UV-resistant standards, depending on the application. Gerber Textiles works with clients to develop materials suited for both functional and aesthetic purposes.
